The Invisible Shrinking Man

music radio

As a child I wanted to be a radio dj . We had no television , then we didn't , then we did , then we didn't then we did again .

My classical music loving parents may not have entirely approved when my Grandad bought me my first little transistor-radio , when I instantly fell in love not just with 'pop music' , but with radio .

First Radio1 , then , later , Capital Radio and LBC , and BBC Radio London .

In 2006 I was for a few weeks , once or twice a week , a pub dj , at an old and haunted gay pub ~ And , though not prejudiced , I'm not gay . And my consumption of pints o' lager didn't exactly enhance my aptitude for the job .

Though I was glad to be able to introduce a wider selection of danceable music than was my younger and better looking fellow-dj there .

After all these years, at the grand old age of 47 , I'm finally getting to realise my dream of sharing my music collection , and facets of my personality live on radio , and , miracle of miracles : Speaking live into a microphone , my stammer disappears !

It's a small local  'community' radio station , and I accept no , and would never accept any payment for my humble sevices to it .
