I bought a gadget with which to easily convert tape-cassette tracks or albums into mp3 files .

It works , though the sound quality isn't as good as I might've hoped , though I can try again with differing settings , but . . . The installation of its s/ware has made changes to this pc , so that I can no longer listen to anything through the speakers attached to it . There's vague , useless advice re. that problem with the accompanying info , and on the AspectTwo w/site . I cannot figure out how to solve this , and even if I uninstalled the s/ware the revised settings would most probably remain . So I'll probably have to find and expensively pay a computer expert .

I've been watching some of a tv programme tonight about Joan Baez , who seems a lovely , warmhearted , caring and talented lady ,  who I'd like to hug .

I have a compilation of her 70's recordings , which I may play a track from this Sunday .

A wise old lady who my parents and I knew in Kings Langley , Hertfordshire , in the 1970's once gave me a dragon-mug from Tintagel , and wrote an accompanying letter , to me soon before I started at the KL 'Junior School' , in which she warned that there would be 'Dragons' .

So true , and now as much as then . Some people have a natural gift for popularity , so most bullies , who are generally very cowardly , would never dare to pick on them , preferring to victimise someone who they perceive as having few if any supporters .

Although , most people are generally okay .

The law of the land rightly recognises genuinely mitigating circumstances , but for yobs who viciously , sometimes fatally attack other people purely for their evil sadistic enjoyment there has to be , and is not , and is not in the UK likely to be appropiately deterrent sentences .
